Timothée Berte-Renou
French cellist Timothée Berte-Renou was born in Cannes, France, and began studying the cello under Charles Reneau at the age of six. Subsequent engagements as a cello soloist included the Oregon Symphony, the Richmond Symphony, l’Orchestre national de Cannes, the International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre philharmonique de Nice and the Oregon Ballet Theater. Timothée is one half of the folk- and soul-inspired pop duo Green Mountain Guild, and has collaborated with the Columbia River Strings. He has also played with the acclaimed cross-genre Portland Cello Project alongside the group’s longtime drummer and Prince alum, Tyrone Hendrix (Prince, Stevie Wonder, Allen Stone), whose mission is to “bring the cello to places you wouldn’t normally see it.”
